An attractive 18k goldIWC automatic dress watch from circa 1962. This beautiful vintage IWC ispoweredby the famed calibre 8531 automatic movement, and is a typical illustration of the brand striving for greatness in the 1950s and 1960s. It features a 35mm 18k gold case with a classic dial design.
IWC made the decision in the 1950s and 1960s to create some of the greatest timepieces ever made, and they succeeded! Their exquisite movements and cases, created during the 'golden era' of watchmaking, haverarely been equalled since in terms of workmanship, technical perfection, or pure beauty. The dial is in the style of a classic IWC from this time period. Clean, simple, subtle, and elegant are the words that come to mind while thinking about this design. Not to mention the silvery-white hue that has been dubbed a 'Moondust'colour in the past.
Technical & Condition:
Overall in excellent condition. The dial remains in great shape with mild patination. The case remains in good shape with only minor scratches (these could easily be polished out should the new owner wish). The movement is clean and running well and finally, the watch is fitted with a 3rd party Hirsch leather strap which remains in good order.
