Product Details

An excellent example of the classically 70'sOmega Electronic F300HZ Geneve Chronometer reference198.0068.169. Hailing from circa 1972 thisOmega Electronic F300HZ oozes 1970's style.

Threatened by the impending quartz crisis, Swiss watchmakers (including Rolex, Patek Philippe and Omega) banded together and in 1962 founded the Centre Electronique Horloger (CEH). In 1967 they developed the Beta 21, an 8khz quartz module with 13 jewels.

Following on from this, this particular watch houses a movement that grew from this initial technology. Based on the ESA calibre 9162 and rebranded the calibre 1250 by Omega, the Omega F300HZ is powered by a so called tuning fork movement. In fact this movement is considered by many to be the the Rolls Royce of tuning fork movements.

Condition wise, this Omega Electronic F300HZ Geneve is in excellent vintage condition. The 38mm case remains in great shape as does the dial. There are a couple of small marks but nothing unexpected for a watch of this age. The movement has just undergone a full service and is in excellent condition for this age.

All in all an excellent example of a historically significant watch with bundles of 1970's retro style to boot!
