This eye-catching watch is the Omega Genve Dynamic, ref. 166.079, from 1969. We are seeing a lot of demand for this model at the moment, not that should be any surprise given it was once Omegas best selling model; selling more than 1 million examples between 1968 1971!
At 40mm the Omega Dynamic commands presence on the wrist like few other vintage pieces can. In a world of copy and paste minimalist watches, the Dynamics retro dial design and thick elliptical case are sure to make an impression and draw numerous questions of its origins.
The Omega Dynamic was first introduced in 1968 and touted as the worlds first watch designed especially for the human wrist. Its design was inspired in part by aerodynamic principles which were translated into a lug-less case design and crown that was recessed into the case to create a smooth flowing design. This idea of flowing lines and focus on ergonomics continued to the design of the strap that was formedfrom a single piece of synthetic material that widened near the case to provide a more secure fit.
Technical & Condition:
The watch is presented in overall excellent vintage condition. The dial is largely free from marks with only a couple of marks/stains presents. The case is generally clean and retains is sunburst effect finish on the bezel. The movement is serviced and finally the watch is fitted with a new 3rd party strap.
